Dinainterface.jar Issue and Workaround
When upgrading to 6.0.2.412, several users have reported receiving a failure of “fails to initialize” when opening AltiGen's Enterprise Network Manager. This is typically caused by the DinaInterface.jar file having been locked during the upgrade processes, typically because an instance of Enterprise Network Manager was already running on the server, and had not been shutdown. Future versions of the upgrade software will be re-written to confirm that the application is shutdown. If a partner finds that this has happened to them, the repair is quite simple, and does not involve shutting down switching.
Solution:
- First confirm that this is indeed the problem. Make a copy of C:\AltiServ\DINA\DinaInterface.jar, and rename it to DinaInterface.zip. After this has been done, you will be able to open the .zip file in windows. Open the file \META-INF\MANIFEST.MF from inside of the .zip file using notepad. The version of the file is supposed to be 6.0.2.412. If so, proceed with the steps below. If it is the correct version, and you are still receiving the “fails to initialize” error, please contact AltiGen Technical support.
- If the file is in need of updating, please contact AltiGen Tech Support.
- Stop the AltiGen JServiceLoader Windows service.
- Open the Windows Task Manager, and select the “Processes” tab. Sort the processes by image name, and end all “javaw.exe” processes.
- Overwrite C:\AltiServ\DINA\DinaInterface.jar with the version that was downloaded in step2.
- Restart the AltiGen JServiceLoader Windows service.
- Verify that Enterprise Network Manager can now be staretd.
